A Group Show: Paige Pettibon, Amber Spindel, Terresa White

This exciting group exhibition brings together the diverse works of three talented artists: Amber Spindel, Paige Pettibon, and Terresa White. Each artist explores unique aspects of storytelling and cultural heritage through their distinctive painting and carving mediums.

On February 6, during the First Thursday exhibit opening from 5-8 pm, visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to hear from Amber and Paige as they present short talks about their work at 7 pm.

Paige and Terresa will also be hosting an art demo day on Saturday, February 22, from 1-3 pm. This interactive session will offer insight into their creative processes and techniques. Don’t miss this chance to engage with these remarkable artists and their work.

Stonington Gallery is excited to introduce a curated exhibition showcasing the rich tradition of mask-making among Indigenous cultures of the Pacific Northwest. This collection features an array of exquisite masks, from traditional carved cedar pieces to contemporary interpretations in various media.

From the imposing Huxwhukw masks used in Hamat’sa ceremonies to the intricate Bella Coola-style creations, this exhibit offers a rare glimpse into the living traditions that continue to shape the region’s artistic landscape.

“Unmasked” not only celebrates the aesthetic beauty of these masterpieces but also provides insight into the ceremonial and social roles masks play in Indigenous communities. Visitors will experience the depth and diversity of mask-making practices, spanning from the Columbia River to Alaska.

Luminosity: Our Annual Group Glass Exhibit

Join us in celebrating the return of our annual group glass exhibit, Luminosity, showcasing spectacular creations by numerous glass artists at Stonington Gallery. Northwest Native glass art merges contemporary glass techniques with ancient Indigenous imagery.

Marvel at Preston Singletary’s and Raya Friday’s exquisite glass baskets, inspired by traditional Tlingit and Lummi weaving. Immerse yourself in Raven Skyriver’s mesmerizing underwater world of intricately crafted sea creatures. Experience Dan Friday’s homage to Lummi heritage through his stunning glass salmon, feathers, and fishing-inspired pieces. Discover Lillian Pitt’s cast glass faces and spirit figures, echoing the ancient petroglyphs of the Columbia River Plateau.

These works, along with contributions from other talented artists, create a vibrant tapestry of Northwest Native glass art. Luminosity 2026 offers a unique blend of cultural significance, technical mastery, and artistic innovation.
