Anagama Fired Clay, Peacock Feathers, Beads, Shells
EXHIBITION:June: Tradition Keepers
The Spider Woman is inspired by the Women’s Strength and resilience to build and rebuild the homes, family, and way of live. With each new lesson in life good or bad, the solution is always meant to withstand future pressures or stressors. The artist originally softened this clay over and over, melding into the shape that it is before us. We are all on a potter’s wheel being formed by the world around us. However, when glazed and placed in the fire the substance solidifies and gains strength and the impurities were burned off leaving this shiny beautiful surface that reveals so much. Perfect and strong! May we all see ourselves as beautiful, strong home maker, the glue that keeps our families together and the tradition keepers that pass on these skills, trades, crafts, life lessons to all those who we encounter. Embrace your inner super hero! We are so grateful for your strength and leadership!
