The artist originally softened this clay over and over, melding into the shape that it is before us. We are all on a potter’s wheel being formed by the world around us. However, when glazed and placed in the fire the substance solidifies and gains strength and the impurities were burned off leaving this shiny beautiful surface that reveals so much.
