We produced a new video on Jennifer Angaiak Wood in summer 2020, in concert with her newest body of work. Listen to Wood speak about her career, upbringing, and new masks below:
Current Schedule (beginning July 8th):
Stopping By: The gallery is taking your safety and comfort seriously. We will limit the number of visitors in the space at any given time, so we strongly encourage you to email or call ahead to let us know you are coming by. Or, you may arrive without an appointment, and if there are few enough visitors in the space, we will be happy to welcome you in.
Per the Governor’s decree, all visitors are required to wear masks in our space, and we will have disposables available for those without. If you feel unwell, please stay home, particularly as an immunocompromised person is on our staff. We will be cleaning surfaces all through the day, and doing our utmost to ensure everyone’s safety.
Don’t want to come in? That’s ok! We’re happy to meet you at the door or at your vehicle with your artwork. Please give us a shout if you plan to come by so that we can properly ready your artwork for pick-up.
Please excuse any delays. We are currently operating with fewer staff than usual, and adapting to the new challenges of this schedule. We appreciate your understanding and patience!
We will continue to assess how best to protect our clients, artists and staff in the weeks to come. Our schedule will likely remain in flux. Feel free to reach out with any questions: 206 405 4040 / art@stoningtongallery.com

To help staunch the spread of the COVID-19 virus in the Seattle area, the City of Seattle has requested that organizations cancel or postpone gatherings of more than 10 people. In compliance with this request, Stonington will not participate in tomorrow’s First Thursday Artwalk. Our two March exhibitions–“Where the Moonlight Meets the Water” and “Woven Together“–will be up in the gallery throughout the full month of March, and we encourage you to come view them, and to support the artists! The gallery plans to be open for normal hours–closing early at 5pm tomorrow, to prevent Art Walk crowds from coming into the space–and all possible closures will be posted on our website and on social media. We thank you for your understanding and support.
In summer 2019 Visit Seattle selected Dan Friday (Lummi) as just one of three pivotal glass artists to highlight in their online series, “State of Glass”. We were paid a visit by the All is Well crew, who were filming the short doc for Visit Seattle, and it was a ton of fun selecting works to show off. The video debuted during the Refract festival, a city-wide celebration of glass art and artists, and it came out so well!
Some of the works highlighted in the video are available to acquire. Head over to Dan’s artist page and see what’s available.
It was a thrill to host the Git-Hoan Dancers at our 40th Anniversary, and to watch their incredible dances and songs. The Dance Group is led by David A. Boxley (Ts’msyen) and included David R. Boxley and many other talented performers. Watch their performance below, and enjoy!
Watch contemporary Haida artist Robert Davidson present at our 40th Anniversary Celebration! Thank you for joining us and sharing your work and perspective, Robert!
