The River – Woven By Time (2002)
These images are a dedication to the Fraser River on whose shores my people have lived and prospered for countless generations. They are a tribute to all rivers that shape the destiny of those who live by their cycle and spiritual encounters.
This image reflects the sturgeon which is incorporated into a Salish weaving pattern to describe the water motif or the flow of the river. My choice of colors was inspired by the many colors of the Fraser River depending on the time of day and lighting. The background in this imagery, the silhouette of sturgeon, reflects how the river changes through time.
