The frog is often viewed as an otherworldly transformational figure associated with the healing skills and the spiritual calling of a shaman. It is also an important crest figure representing clans and families and as such appears frequently as a motif in the creation of feast dishes, totems and button blankets.
This piece is named to challenge the viewer into looking carefully, there are indeed seven frogs represented.
