“This Toad is an endemic species found on Haida Gwaii. There are many stories of a large frog once found here. It disappeared through the actions of human beings. Several other species of frogs have been accidentally introduced, including mammals that have an impact on the toad.

There was a person visiting and studying the toad population in danger because of purposely introduced species by Euro-Canadians. Beaver, raccoon, squirrels and blacktail deer, elk were introduced. Along with several accidentally introduced species.
