Unmasked: A Group Exhibition
“I come from the Yahgu’laanas Raven clan, Shark house, located on the Northern tip of Haida Gwaii. The Dogfish is one of many crests passed down through the maternal lineage of my clan. Each generation accumulates knowledge, which is wealth, to pass on to the next. This wealth is represented by the copper accents on the mask. With this mask I honour my mother, my Naanii, and the generations before them who have held this knowledge so that I may pass it on to my children.” – Cori Savard
