With spring has come a bounty of art at Stonington! Just this past Thursday we received a new Red Star Woven Glass Basket by Dan Friday (Lummi), along with 14 of his beautiful blown glass feathers. If you’ve been waiting for more feathers by Dan like we have, I am sure you’re not alone! Or if you’ve been hoping for years for the opportunity to collect a limited edition bronze by renowned Haida artist, Robert Davidson, his extraordinary Happy Blowhole #5/12 is available now. Stonington also has a few of Robert’s newly released 2021 serigraph prints called sk’ug sdang (Two Dog Salmon). The ever-popular limited edition bronze owl Spirit Within by Hib Sabin (Non-Indigenous) just flew into the gallery and a gorgeous Eagle in Bentwood Box Style round panel by Jason Hunt (Kwagulth) is here now. It is stunning! Other rare opportunities are four earlier masks from different artists: the late Beau Dick (Kwakwaka’wakw), Richard Beasley (Tlingit), Robert Jackson (Gitksan), and Allie High (Haida/Tsimshian/Aleut). Qwalsius – Shaun Peterson (Puyallup) just brought us two new prints, Drawn Two (in two sizes) and Stiqayu’ yexw hikw słukwalb (Wolf & the Full Moon), which is also available in a smaller size as well. Susan Point (Musqueam) has created a stunning limited edition serigraph called Pacific Spirit 2021, we have one of the last artist proofs. A must see! Last, but certainly not least, we are lucky to have received into the gallery a Raven Warrior limited edition offset lithograph by the late, great Bill Holm (Non-Indigenous). Nothing compares to springtime at Stonington!
