Many years ago a serious famine occurred amongst the Cowichan people, the Killerwhale was eating all of the Salmon. The Cowichan called upon the Thunderbird for help. The Thunderbird came from the sky and killed the Killerwhale, bringing its body onto the beach for the Cowichan to eat, thus ending the famine.
