EXHIBITION:
This Coast Salish PlaceThe “Splendor of Spring” represents the spring season coming forth. There is a dark band of color on the weaving depicting winter’s blanket, which keeps the earth warm during the winter. Springing forth are colors that we would start to see in the spring, also using the framed yarn sample to see those plants. During spring’s growth you can find fawn of elk hidden among the new growth. Thus, portrayed by the subtleness of the carving with the two elk fawns.
