The night seems to steal upon us very quietly, suddenly. In Greek mythology, gods with sun chariots drive from east to west to bring about the sun and daytime; others drive across the sky, bringing us nighttime and the moon. Inspired by these myths and with the stealthy silent night flight of owls a constant throughout his work, Sabin has created a piece wherein the owl, as the symbol of the night, draws a boat with a recumbent, sleeping owl across the surface, the owl flying silently, drawing night silently upon us.
