“As a child of the Northwest I’m no stranger to the Seahawks. I’ll go as far as to say I remember the King Dome. Recently, scholars at the University of Washington made a discovery about the original logo’s potential inspiration–an old transformation mask from Vancouver Island. As the logo has changed over the years, much like the city named after Chief Sealth, it retains a quality of Northwest Native feel.

In this rendition I decided to take cues from the art of the Coast Salish people, of whom Sealth was a leader. In this I honor the warriors of our past and our present.
