This is a Tribute to Loren White, Bill Holm, &
Tsa-qwa-supp/Art Thompson
Letting go of what taught me great lessons and earn my travel.
a world where I have some reflection of admiration.
The art of my making is inspired momentarily
as a place on a page
where I am nothing but an image on a wall.
At deep cut when I am called to reflect such mentorship,
the words escape me because there are 300 songs
of time; I cannot express the time.
But within me
this forever known
the moment I was told
Mr. White left this place…
a wound I thought could not heal.
So I went to mountain to seek some guidance,
place my hand in the river at light of moon.
Remember the time we worked together
at long dark hours
placing finger in place of that
a recollection of story
where all I was taught becomes a reflection
from love and admiration of all ours.
Be a night without armor.
All the thread of water within your fingers
find me an unattainable place
seek guidance.
If the world took away
a day
it cannot take away
all days. I travel to learn
and achieve this work of endurance,
to see salmon in the water
and be nosy.
Understand I can never be this place again.
It is worth everything I have to know
my name is worth the wait.
