This panel represents a story an elder told to the artist about the methods Killer Whales (Orcas) use to hunt in Alert Bay, BC. The matriarchs of the pods would teach the younger whales to round up the salmon in an inlet, so they could be hunted more easily. You can see these salmon swimming in a tight school, surrounded by the Killer Whale, who bears its teeth, ready to feast.
