EXHIBITION:

On the Hunt

Initially, this bowl was intended to have inlaid eggs, representing the healthy continuation of the next generation of the Salmon People, whom the Squaxin Island tribe believe to be their relatives. However, human pollution has done tremendous damage to the salmon waters, threatening their existence. It is vital to the Squaxin Island tribe to care for the Salmon People by conserving and raising awareness of the preciousness of their lakes and streams, ensuring their well-being for future generations.
