The myth of Raven stealing the light is one of Singletary’s central themes in his sculptural glass. While each piece that he creates is unique, Singletary returns to the theme again and again, finding new ways of exploring the evocative imagery. This sculpture–blown in 2014–is one of the most graceful and lyrical depictions we have seen. Noted carver David Franklin carved the wood mold for the light in Raven’s beak, continuing the two artists’ collaboratory efforts.
