Raven Stealing the Light – ca. Early 2000s

This is an exemplary example of Preston Singletary’s early explorations into rendering the “Raven Steals the Light” myth. This piece–one of the first ones blown with Raven and the light in his beak–is an important historic piece, and helps trace the evolution of Singletary’s technique and style. Singletary is perhaps best known for his glass sculptures depicting the myth of Raven stealing the light, and is one of his most beloved themes.
