The “North and South” panel eloquently illustrates the two different, two-dimensional art styles found in Northwest Coast art. One eagle in the panel represents the Coast Salish two-dimensional design found in southern Northwest Coast (southern British Columbia and Washington State) and the other eagle represents the Northern Northwest Coast Formline two-dimensional design found in the northern region (southeast Alaska and northern British Columbia).
