Great Big Frog Transforming Into Man Transforming Into Frog (1997)

The frog is known to be the liaison between the spirit worlds of the water and the deep and mysterious forest. To capture the knowledge of the frog was the opportunity to access great wealth and power.

In this story, a young man of limited social position discovers the skin of a frog while exploring the deep forest. He puts on this skin and transforms into the frog. The hidden wealth and knowledge of the frog are suddenly revealed to him. He takes some of the frog’s supernatural treasures and then transforms back into a human. These treasures were used to build his wealth and status within the village.

Over the years, he returns to the forest on an ongoing basis to transform into the frog and to use this to become more and more wealthy in the human world.

He realizes the consequence of his greed only after becoming a frog one too many times—the frog skin will not come off and he becomes a frog forever.
