“The form of the rattle comes from the Grouse rattles used for dancing during the Klookwalli winter ceremony. Instead of grouse head the bird has taken on the form of a Hinkeet’sam, or serpent. Atop the rattle is the super natural wolf who would have carried off the initiated individual.”
