Raven In Flight Necklace: The Seen and Unseen

This was the first piece of Joan’s that I ever saw, and it was what made me fall head over heels for her work. I have always had an affinity for crows and ravens, but much of the art that depicts them doesn’t quite capture their mysterious character. This necklace – with its graceful, angular lines, its multiple representations of a raven flickering in and out of sight, its gunmetal grey that echoes the Seattle sky – achieves what so many other pieces merely attempt.
