Aunt Fran’s Basket (Low)

The title of this basket pays homage to Dan Friday’s auntie, the great Lummi weaver Fran James, who passed away in 2013. She was a cultural treasure who was pivotal in encouraging Dan to find his own voice in his glass art, and led him to explore his Lummi heritage through the incredible glass works, including this “woven” basket series he makes in her memory and honor.
