EXHIBITION:

Stonington At 35

This work is a contemporary rendition of the mysterious seated figure bowls believed to have been a sacrd art form used by shamans. These bowls were unearthed throughout Coast Salish lands, but most frequently found in the Fraser River Valley. Like many examples of southern Northwest Coast and Coast Salish art, these bowls are more figurative than the carvings found to the north.
