Sacred Belongings (Collaboration with Mikie Foster/Squaxin Island)
EXHIBITION:A Family Exhibition: 5 Generations
This box of Sacred belongings ties together bits and pieces from some of our oldest styles of art here in Salish Sea. The basket designs represent the oldest stories of our women, the 3 point carved mask in stone represents our oldest style of carving here. The frame is symbolic of the bentwood box. The things that make us who we are. These are our most sacred belongings and give us a sense of belonging to something sacred.
