With the “Raven Chief” Scott presents a Chief of high rank, wearing his Raven ceremonial frontlet as he welcomes guests to a ceremony. Scott explains, “The mask’s expression is one of happiness and calm, extending an open invitation to all.” Traditionally the chief’s frontlet was adorned with ermine skins and sea lion whiskers, as Scott has done with this mask. The Chief would have eagle down on the top of the headdress or frontlet which would fall to the floor when he moved and spoke — very beautiful.
