In the beginning the whole world was dark. A chief in the sky kept light in a box. Raven, through his trickery, steals the light. As he flies with the light, Eagle spies and pursues him. Raven, tiring, lightens his load by breaking off pieces and tossing them to the sky: the Stars. Eagle closes in, so Raven breaks off a larger piece: the Moon. Finally, exhausted, Raven releases the Sun.
