Metamorphosis (Drum)

This large-scale drum is a representation and celebration of growth and change. It was lightly inspired by the Monarch butterfly migration. Marks writes, “I heard once of how there are so many butterflies, it looks like the trees are breathing. I liked applying this idea to light shifting formline.”

All of the formlines on this piece are painted in metallic paint, giving them a sheen that is difficult to accurately capture in photos. Please contact us with questions, or if you would like to see video.
