Celebrate Puget Sound“The Spirit of the Great Supernatural Ling Cod eclipses the Moon”
Every now and then the Supernatural Ling Cod gets the notion to swallow the moon. When this happens, all the families in the tribe line up on the beach and begin drumming and singing very loudly so that Nas, the creator, can hear. Their song asks for the return of the Moon from the Supernatural Cod. The people keep singing until the spirit of the Ling Cod lets the moon go by spitting it out. As the Moon returns, the families begin singing even louder. Their song thanks Nas for listening to them when they asked for the spirit of the Ling Cod to release the moon.
